Fixed shade structure or retractable awning?
- Freestanding Awning: anchored to the ground in places with no wall behind them or where an awning cannot be fixed to the facade, such as tea gardens, parking lots and schoolyards.
- Bellows Awning: covers large areas such as restaurant terraces, poolsides, inner courtyards and loading ramps when needed, or leaves them fully open.
For a facade-mounted awning see the Bat-Wing Awning page, and for a seating area see the Gazebo Tent page. Send the size of the area to be shaded through the contact page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can an awning be installed in an area with no wall?
Yes. The Freestanding Awning is not attached to a facade; it stands on a legged frame anchored to the ground.
Can a bellows awning open fully?
Yes. It folds up on rails, so it covers the area when needed and leaves it fully open when needed.
What measurements should I give for a shade structure?
The width and length of the area to be shaded and the desired height. For a freestanding awning, also state the ground where the legs will stand; for a bellows awning, where the rails will be attached.
