Large lava pieces for rock gardens and focal stones
Lava Stone is a porous stone of volcanic origin. Because it contains many small voids, it is lighter than a dense stone of the same size. The product on this page is sold in pieces. It is used in rock gardens, succulent and cactus arrangements, and as a standalone focal stone in the garden.
Choosing a lava stone size
Pieces of 5-15 cm are used along pot edges, between succulent clusters and in small rock gardens. Pieces of 15-30 cm form the body of a rock garden. Pieces of 30-60 cm serve as focal stones on their own or in groups of three. When placing a large piece, bury its base slightly in the soil; the stone looks more settled and will not tip over.
