A curtain that encloses without blocking light
A clear tarpaulin enclosure is for those who want to close the sides of a terrace, balcony, cafe front or pergola against wind and rain without blocking light and the view. It is not a tent but a curtain: clear PVC (crystal) tarpaulin attached to an aluminum profile support with a rail, zipper or straps. You can see outside from inside, and daylight comes in. We supply clear tarpaulin enclosures.
Key features
- Attachment: A rail is more practical where the curtain is opened and closed often, and straps where it is opened occasionally. A zipper opens the curtain in sections.
- Opening: The curtain opens by rolling up or gathering to the side; the area stays open in summer.
- Thickness: Chosen according to where it is used. The thicker the curtain, the heavier and stiffer it gets; take this into account for a curtain that will be rolled often.
- Size: Each opening is measured separately, and the curtain is cut and sewn to that size.
Before installing
On apartment balconies, changes to the exterior appearance are subject to the building's management plan; consult your building manager before installing. At cafe and restaurant fronts, an enclosure extending onto the sidewalk or public space requires the municipality's permission. Clean clear PVC with a soft cloth and warm water; abrasives and solvents dull the surface.
For a quote, send the width and height of each opening, the surface it will attach to (wall, column, pergola) and the attachment system. If you want a cover whose top also opens and closes, see the Retractable Tarpaulin page. Other covers are in the Tarpaulin category. You can reach us via the contact page.
