A tent barn for cattle and water buffalo
A cattle barn tent is a shelter set up instead of a reinforced concrete or steel barn, with PVC-coated polyester tarpaulin stretched over galvanized steel trusses. Beef and dairy cattle farms use it to house a new herd or to add a section next to an existing barn.
The width and length of the tent are determined by the number of animals, the feed bunk layout and the machinery that will move inside. Length is increased by adding truss modules; when the farm grows, the tent is extended too.
Options for Cattle Barn Tents
- Door: Planned wide enough for a tractor and feed mixer wagon to pass.
- Ventilation: A ridge vent opening and roll-up side curtains can be selected. When fresh air enters through the side wall and exits at the ridge, moisture and odor do not build up in the barn.
- Side wall: Windbreak netting, roll-up curtain or closed tarpaulin.
Before you build: permits and support
Article 5 of Zoning Law No. 3194 in Türkiye also counts temporary facilities as structures. Under Article 27 of the same law, a building permit is not required for agricultural and livestock structures in a village settlement area outside municipal boundaries and adjacent areas, but there is a governorship and village headman (muhtar) procedure. Outside the village settlement area, a building permit is mandatory. Consult your municipality or provincial special administration before setting up the tent.
If you are applying to a rural development support program, send the program's technical specification together with your quote request. For sheep and goats, see Sheep and Goat Tent; for other models, see the Livestock Tents page. For a quote, contact us.
